Komak Receives $5,000 gift from Northwest Cancer Specialists

Northwest Cancer Specialists (NCS) –  a regional oncology and hematology practice, awarded Komak with a gift of $5,000 in November. Every year, NWCS honors its referring physicians by donating to a local charity that has positively impacted their patients’ lives. Komak is thrilled to be this year’s recipient.

Portland Newlyweds Toast Komak

Engaged to be married October 10, 2009, David Kreifels and Meredith Gigley asked wedding guests to donate to Komak in lieu of giving them gifts. Thanks to their generosity, Komak received more than $2,000 in donations. Our heartfelt thanks for this lovely tribute and our best wishes to David and Meredith.

Musicians for the Cure & Sonny Hess Rock It for Komak

Musicians for the Cure and Sonny Hess hosted the 10th annual NW Women R&B Christmas Benefit, donating all proceeds to Komak, Musicians Ellen Whyte, Lisa Mann, Janice Scroggins, Rae Gordon, Kimberly Hall, Lady Kat, Theresa Lowe, Claudia Knauer, Kelly Pierce, Jolie Clausen, and Sonny Hess played to a full house. Hess, a breast cancer survivor, has been “playing it forward” for cancer-related charities for ten years. Komak is honored to have been this year’s recipient of her generosity.

Komak Raises Over $60,000 from “Dancing for Our Stars” Benefit Auction & Fundraiser

Nearly 180 guests dined, danced and donated generously at Komak’s “Dancing for Our Stars” benefit auction and fundraiser, held at Portland’s Governor Hotel on October 11. Guests had the opportunity to bid on more than 60 silent auction items and thirteen oral auction items, including a week in France and a weekend in Ashland. Deanna and the Downbeats entertained guests after a lively “Raise the Paddle” session, which raised thousands for Komak’s future clients. Our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make this event such a success, as well as to those who donated, but were unable to attend.
